Concert in memory of Maestro Pavarotti | Modena, 2021

As every year, the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Modena and with the support of the Modena Foundation, organised an event dedicated to the memory of Maestro Pavarotti on the anniversary of his death, September 6.

The evening saw the artists on stage performing as soloists and in duets, paying tribute to the most famous bel canto arias and even touching on the more popular and pop repertoire that Maestro enjoyed with pleasure, with the openness and curiosity that always distinguished him.

In 2021, one of the most important tenors on the international scene, Vittorio Grigòlo, was the protagonist on the stage  in Pavarotti Home Museum’ s park. Grigòlo has already achieved many successes in his brilliant career and, we recall, was the last singer to whom Maestro Pavarotti gave his precious advice before his passing.

Annalisa, one of the most popular female voices among Italian audiences and beyond, also offered her personal tribute to Maestro: the young singer-songwriter has climbed to the top of the charts, going from winning the Critics’ Award on “Amici” to being the favourite to win the Sanremo Festival, in which she has participated numerous times.

The concert on September 6 also featured Nek as presenter; the singer from Emilia is a great friend of the Foundation and was among the special guests who paid tribute to Maestro at the Verona Arena in 2017. During the evening, however, Nek returned to his usual role and treated the audience to some unreleased songs.

At his side was an exceptional co-host: Alice Pavarotti, Maestro’s youngest daughter, who co-presented the event.

There were also performances by two young but already accomplished singers supported by the Pavarotti Foundation, who are enjoying growing success in theatres across Italy and Europe: soprano Giulia Mazzola and tenor Giuseppe Infantino.

The artists’ performances were accompanied by Paolo Andreoli on piano and the Gocce D’Opera string quartet.
