Musica Maestro! | Modena, 2021
The festival was created with the aim of celebrating a very important anniversary, namely the 60th anniversary of Maestro Pavarotti’s debut. On 29 April 1961, the young Luciano took to the stage of the Teatro Municipale Valli in Reggio Emilia, making his debut as Rodolfo in Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème. That day marked a turning point in Pavarotti’s life and brought to the world stage a tenor who profoundly influenced the history of opera in the second half of the 20th century.
To celebrate this anniversary, all the events in the Musica Maestro! festival had a connection or reference to Pavarotti’s career or the world of opera in general.

This prestigious programme was staged in the grounds of the Home Museum thanks to the invaluable collaboration of a historic institution in the cultural landscape of Emilia-Romagna, the Teatro Duse in Bologna, which enthusiastically worked alongside the Pavarotti Foundation to bring some of the most beloved and popular stars of its theatre season to the public, even in summer.
This event was made possible thanks to the fundamental support of public bodies and institutions that decided to network and walk alongside the Pavarotti Foundation, promoting an initiative aimed at supporting the restart of culture and an entire productive sector, that of artists and all entertainment workers, one of the sectors most affected by the economic consequences of the pandemic.
We would therefore like to thank the following for their active support: the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Municipality of Modena, APT Servizi Regione Emilia-Romagna, Vivaticket and Radio Bruno (media partner).
