The concert “Pavarotti Forever” took place in Reggio Emilia at the Romolo Valli Municipal Theatre on November 7, it was a tribute to the memory of Maestro Pavarotti (who made his debut in Reggio in 1961) and benefitting the no-profit association Curare Onlus.
The event was aimed to celebrate not only the memory of the artist Pavarotti but also of the man Luciano and the generous philanthropist he was throughout his life; the concert had, in fact, a charitable purpose collecting funds in favor of MI.RE project (Maternity & Childhood Reggio Emilia) – a project conceived as a “warm hug” to host the event of birth, providing assistance to women, mothers and children with their families, integrated in the main Hospital Santa Maria Nuova.
The program of the concert ideally revisited Maestro Pavarotti’s extraordinary career between operatic arias and popular songs, also presenting archive footage,
Welcomed by a theatre completely sold out for the occasion, the artists on stage were: tenors Fabio Armiliato (who has shared many events with Maestro), Matteo Macchioni and Cristobàl Campos, sopranos Giulia Mazzola and Maria Francesca Rossi, mezzo-soprano Eleonora Filipponi, and baritone Hae Kang. They were also joined by Lorenzo Licitra, winner of “X Factor” Italy and now star of Rai TV show “Tale e quale”, a pop tenor who ideally paid tribute to the cross-over genre inaugurated by Maestro.
The artists were accompanied by the ensemble Gocce d’Opera and pianist Paolo Andreoli.
