Sorrento celebrates Luciano Pavarotti: Vincerò | Sorrento, Italy

On Friday 20 December, the Teatro Comunale Tasso hosted the show “Vincerò: the story of an extraordinary life“, dedicated to Maestro Luciano Pavarotti. The event, now in its third edition, was organized by the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, the Municipality of Sorrento and the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria.
This year the protagonists of the evening were the actor Massimiliano Gallo – interpreter of an intense monologue, an exciting story that traced the life and career of the great tenor, including memories, curiosities and anecdotes – and the singing performances of young singers selected by the Pavarotti Foundation accompanied on the piano by Paolo Andreoli. Vincerò’s text has been written by the Bolognese writer Grazia Verasani. On stage alternated: the soprano Claudia Sasso, the mezzo soprano Arianna Manganello, tenors Marco Miglietta, Stefano Tanzillo, Davide Tuscano; the baritone Mattia Rossi.
“Once again the City of Sorrento, the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation and the property of the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, the Fiorentino family, joint together to give to citizens and guests an evening of exceptional cultural value” commented the mayor Giuseppe Cuomo. ” The talent, but also the humanity, of Luciano Pavarotti is brightening again this year in a tribute evening aimed to celebrate one of the most prestigious names in international opera, an unforgettable Italian ambassador in the world “.
